The 200 Book Challenge
Dec. 31st, 2011 11:18 am
Last year I challenged myself to read 50 books and ended up reading about 150. This year, it's gonna be 200. Some of these books I'll comment on here and rate. If it has ** next to it, it's a reread. Yes, I'm counting them.

Books read in July
Aug. 1st, 2011 11:35 amWhile I am here, might as well do this! Last month I barely met my goal of 85 books. This month my goal was 100 books, which I passed! I read a total of 28 books this month.
( Books read in July )
Goal for August: 125 books

Jul. 13th, 2011 08:19 pm[Poll #1761526]I bought 5 books on my kindle today! A Song of Fire and Ice books 1-4 boxed set for $30 and The Hunger Games for $5. SO EXCITED! I read the first 2 books of the Sookie Stackhouse books. I feel kind of meh about them? I mean, Sookie gets beaten up a bit too much and I always feel awkward reading sex scenes, and some of the stuff is kind of weird. But I have the first 12 books on my kindle so I'll probably keep reading. I love how it took me a really long time to reach my reading goal of 85 last month and in just 13 days I'm TWO books away from my monthly goal of 100. Less computer time really does wonders for my reading.
Book community
Jun. 11th, 2011 08:32 pmHi guys!
Last summer I created this book community where I would talk about and review books. Sadly I've neglected it this year, but I am fully planning to restart it this summer! But I'd love if you guys could watch or comment because yay comments! It's also where my monthly roundup posts are going to be posted.

Potter reread!
Jan. 25th, 2011 03:51 pmGuys!
sunny_serenity and I are doing a Potter reread, and would love for you to join us. Knowing us, it will be very Harry/Hermione oriented, with the possibility of reading AU fics for sixth and seventh year.
How does it work? Well, what will happen is that you have one month to read each book, with a weekly discussion post for thoughts, check ins, fic recs (or, if you get inspired for fic while we're doing it), and links to any entries you might make about it.
So, who's in?

Reading...
Aug. 3rd, 2008 09:46 amSo I'm reading Angela's Ashes for school (and because I've been wanting to read it anyway) and Breaking Dawn for, whatever you call it since it isn't for pleasure, and I'm trying to think of which is more painful to read.
I mean, Angela's Ashes is really good and the writing is amazing and everything, but the content is so depressing that I have to read it in short doses.
And Breaking Dawn is so laughable (especially when you get to part 2) that I have to read it in short doses too. And that's saying a lot. I read Eclipse in about a day even and HP7 in 9 hours even though both were painful for me to read. She should have renamed the book to Breaking Minds. I've taken to rewatching my favorite episodes of Bones to keep me going through both.
Dios mio, I'm NEVER going to get these books done.
(Sorry to anyone on my list who likes Breaking Dawn/Twilight series, by the way. I know there are a few *huggles*)
