[Poll #1761526]I bought 5 books on my kindle today! A Song of Fire and Ice books 1-4 boxed set for $30 and The Hunger Games for $5. SO EXCITED! I read the first 2 books of the Sookie Stackhouse books. I feel kind of meh about them? I mean, Sookie gets beaten up a bit too much and I always feel awkward reading sex scenes, and some of the stuff is kind of weird. But I have the first 12 books on my kindle so I'll probably keep reading. I love how it took me a really long time to reach my reading goal of 85 last month and in just 13 days I'm TWO books away from my monthly goal of 100. Less computer time really does wonders for my reading.

I started the first Sookie Stackhouse book last year, but I got about halfway through and just didn't feel interested enough to finish it. The sex scenes were definitely super awkward.

I'm on the third book (1/2 way through). I've heard a lot of talk about the Red Wedding and I'm not there yet. I have a feeling something awful is going to happen...
Did you watch the show?

Yup! That's how I started reading the books.

Me too. TBQH I didn't like Sansa in the show. The books turned me around on that.

Oooh The Hunger Games, love those, enjoy, I'll be eager to hear your thoughts! And yeah, the SS aren't great literature, but still entertaining and fun, and I think they get a bit better after #2 (though now they seem to be declining in quality again, sadly). Heh, I'd be wary of SOFAI then, there are lots of sex scenes it would seem in that one as well, judging from the HBO show (which apparently included mostly scenes that are actually in the books). :/

Did you like the show? I was thinking of checking it out.

Hee, I'm SUCH a Ravenpuff in most of these memes/quizzes/sorting things that I was curious which of the 2 my flist would put me in! Looks like it's tied so far, with the other houses getting nothing. What house do you think you would be in? I see Ravenclaw for you :)

And hi, Soph! I'm doing well! And yep, I'm going to the midnight release tomorrow. I've gone CRAZY on their asses, demanding that they all get there NO LATER than seven (and that's already pushing it!! It's really unfortunate hat we all work D=). Will you be able to see it?

Yikes! I don['t think I'd be able to handle a midnight showing and I don't even work!
LMFAO I know. I'm so bad at riddles. I'd be all, "Can we stick to What has four legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 legs in the evening, please? Because I can do that!"

Being home from school does wonders for my reading, haha. :)

Didn't answer the poll, cause I'm afraid I don't know you well enough to really judge yet and otherwise I would vote off of how HiH sorted you. It's definitely interesting to see how your friends would sort you though!

I voted for Ravenclaw, but I figure most of us have several different House traits in us. :)

I need to charge up my shitty e-reader
Finally, I can't help but feel i missed my calling of writing trashy chicklit full of awkward sex scenes

Sookie Stackhouse books are meh. I've read them all but that's mainly because the boxed set of the first 8 went on sale last summer and I thought "Why not?" I'll read them but they certainly aren't my favorites.
I kept wanting to call it A Song of Fire and Ice too (it's actually A Song of Ice and Fire)! I'm really enjoying those books. I hope you do too!
The Hunger Games are also on my "to-read" list. Let me know what you think of them.

(Anonymous) 2011-07-14 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)Hufflepuffs are loyal friends and hard workers
Ravenclaws are clever and creative
Gryffindors are brave (and a bit reckless)
Slytherins are cunning and loyal mostly to their own house and family members, and not much else LOL

I tried to read the Sookie Stackhouse series last year, but I didn't even finish the first book. There was something that put me off, though I can;t quite figure out what. I'm thinking about trying them again in the future, but I always keep finding something better to read, lol.
