Ipod classic for sure, they can survive anything.
My touch's screen cracked and the battery was constantly dying.

Definitely go with the iPod Touch -- they're amazing! My fiancé got me one for my 22nd birthday and I just love it to bits :D

Hm... I think it really depends what you're going for. I have an ipod touch, and I love it, but there are definitely times I wish I still had my classic.

The nice thing about the touch is that you can use the internet, download apps, and all those fancy trimmings. But, well. They're fragile. The screens can break very easily if you don't have a case for it. (As I learned two years ago. D: )

I had both but I much prefer my iPod touch. I do miss the size of the 80 gb classic but my 32 gb touch is very nice. I love surfing the internet. In fact, I am typing this response on my iPod. :)
