Gotcha

I've been thinking about the whole gotcha thing today. Gotcha, like when a movie or a show or a book does something that you weren't expecting at all, or maybe that you'd been suspecting.

Sometimes, a gotcha can be really great. But sometimes it just makes me feel angry and cheated. Gotcha, Zack is Gormagon's apprentice. Gotcha, Cordelia got possessed by an evil demon and is now in a coma. Gotcha, Boyd is a bad guy, and now he blew himself up. Gotcha, characters you like are written off the show.

But Adelle is a HBIC and I fucking love her. *needs an Adelle and a Topher icon*

Yup, I agree with you about the "gotcha" moments. Sometimes they can be like mind-blowingly AWESOME!!! Other times.....they can make me want to break down and sob. Or just break something in general, LOL! The Zack being Gormagon thing is a GREAT example of that.

I wish I had something more useful to say, but alas....I do not ;)

Hmm. Zack though... they kinda made that work in some ways, IMO, though in other ways it was a total screw-over, and then it's like SHIT WE WENT TOO FAR, LET'S BACKTRACK, NO HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY KILL ANYONE. Grr. IDK.

It's kinda funny in mystery shows when they have to like backtrack and basically explain the gotcha to you, like in Midsomer Murders, they have to basically explain the whole thing so you GET it, when they reveal the murderer etc...

I just posted about this today. I was absolutely FLABBERGASTED about Boyd. I trusted him and thought that he was the one true good guy in the whole show.

And, Topher, someone that I haven't liked since the beginning, has been growing on me. Poor thing.
