I understand the morale boost that may be gained, for our troops who are still over there, trying to make sense of it all and do their duties.

I understand the relief some must feel, because they lost loved ones on 9/11 to such horrific ends.

But deep in my heart -- and maybe this is the somehow yet naive part of me -- I cannot 'celebrate' anyone's death, no matter how vile a person he or she was. The man was terrible, NO doubt about it. Evil. But... it's tough for me to watch media coverage and hear them say that it's a 'victory' as if it can be simplified in those terms. It's so much more complicated than that, isn't it? Or at the very least, shouldn't it be more complicated? Because if it's not, then we've lost our humanity just as he seems to long ago have lost his. (If he ever had it.)

Seriously, I can't be gleeful over Osama's death. I get that many people have peace of mind knowing he's gone, but I'm not gonna cheer that someone's been murdered even if the dead guy is a terrorist.
