I don't think we're at 'war' with 4chan anymore, or at least not that I've heard :P I think I have a bit of a tumblr problem, tbh.
Yeah I just think that the book was a product of Ron's insecurity; he probably thought he could only be good enough for Hermy if he followed its advice, but he soon mans up when he literally conquers those insecurities with the horcrux stabbing. I think it makes sense for his character. Not gonna deny that I'm biased, though :P
I sort of know what you mean, it does change the dynamic (a lot of people ship OT3), but I wasn't particularly bothered by the epilogue. I don't have any strong feelings about it either way.
